About the namesake:
Audre Lorde was a groundbreaking writer, activist, and poet who championed intersectionality. As a self-described "Black, lesbian, feminist, socialist, mother, warrior, poet," she fearlessly explored the complexities of identity and the interconnectedness of oppression. Lorde's work illuminated the experiences of marginalized communities, particularly Black women, and called for a radical transformation of society. Her writings on race, gender, sexuality, and class continue to inspire and challenge us to create a more just and equitable world.
